Also known as Singleton because of the difficult to pronounce name (Othrusk). Started distilling in 1974 and was built on top of a water source. Very important for Diageo for its blends. Also collecting point for all the other produced malts for the Diageo blends in Scotland, which are mixed in huge tanks and are transported by tanker to the south of Scotland for further processing. The swallow is used as their emblem.
Nose: A lot of fruit, buttery with sweet custard, just like grandma’s pie.
Taste: Sweet with cream, vanilla and honey.
Finish: Bright and fresh with light citrus and more lemon peel.
