Glenrothes Douglas Laing Old particular, 2005 10 years, 48,4%, 0,7L, sherry butt DL10955, 715 bottles.
The distillery has 10 stills and 20 washbacks and produces 5.5 million liters per year. Most disappear into the blender Cutty Sark. A special event: In 1922 there was a fire 700,000 liters of whiskey lost. After the explosion of the whiskey barrels flowed into the river: Burn of Rothes and made therein live trout were as meek as lambs and hand could be caught.
Nose: Richly fruited, roundly spices, sweetly fruited and very distictly sherried.
Taste: Nicely vanilla’d followed ny treacle, honeycomb, citrus and maple syrup.
Finish: Soft spices intertwine with macerated dark fruit, barley and chocolate.
